Welcome to The Peace Garden Project !

Sowing The Seeds of Peace

"May It Be Done In Beauty!" From these incredibly powerful words in the ancient Native American prayer comes the guiding philosophy for The Peace Garden Project.

“The future is in the hands of those who can give tomorrow’s generations
valid reasons to live and hope”  - Chardin

PEACE GARDENS...
grow community, cultivate friendships, commune with life, quiet the mind, empower children, comfort the elderly, assuage the grieving, align natural rythyms, connect neighbors, inspire respect for things that abide and
things that pass away, and reconnect us to our natural affinity for Life
.

So much happens in this world that is anything but beautiful, yet so much occurs that truly is. It is our hope here at the Peace Garden Project to provide you with the inspiration to create sanctuaries of Peace -- in place and of being -- that transcend these outer world constructs and offer restorative connection to the ever-present timeless peace within us all.

The Peace Garden Project
has BIG dreams! (Why dream any other way?)
It's my Dream to travel the world,  interview and webcast the most inspiring people, places and creations -- wherever there are those who are making Peace a reality, whether through tilling a garden or -- as in the case of The Bangladeshi banker Muhammad Yunus (founder of the Microcredit revolution) -- tending the "Garden of Humanity".

What we give our attention to increases.  Even wine fermenting in large barrels takes on the characteristics of other wines nearby.

The Peace Garden Project is here because of my fervent belief that peace already exists at the core of our beings and as we give it room and the right
conditions to grow, it is our natural state of being.

...Maybe you know of a community that is deserving of a
Peace Garden...?

(There are nuns at a retirement home in San Francisco who lived their lives educating those in need --
-- just waiting for volunteers to connect here and  help build them a garden...STAY TUNED!)

THAT'S JUST THE BEGINNING OF WHAT WE CAN DO -- ANYWHERE!!

I hope to inspire you in creating gardens in your communities;
travelling the world over to connect with you
and together, celebrating and inspiring the natural peace, intrinsic dignity,
and native joy of each human life.

I look forward to co-creating with you!

"We cannot change the past, but we can change our attitude toward it. Uproot guilt and plant forgiveness. Tear out arrogance and seed humility. Exchange love for hate...thereby, making the present comfortable and the future promising."
— Maya Angelou

From "Victory Gardens" to "Peace Gardens":
The paradigm for a lasting victory should be Peace Gardens.

"Today, the world is so small and so interdependent that the concept of war has become anachronistic, an outmoded approach. As a rule, we always talk about reform and changes.   Among the old traditions, there are many aspects that are either ill-suited to our present reality or are counterproductive due to their shortsightedness.   These, we have consigned to the dustbin of history.  War too should be relegated to the dustbin of history."
--His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso

"The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes from within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Sacred, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us. This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this. The second peace is that which is made between two individuals, and the third is that which is made between two nations. But above all you should understand that there can never be peace between nations until there is first known that true peace which is within the souls of men."
 -- Black Elk

"Peace has its victories no less than war, but it doesn't have as many monuments to unveil."
  -- Kin Hubbard

NATURE LEADS to wonder, wonder to awe, awe to reverence – and reverence to communion -- with Self,
with Life and each other -- take me down that garden path!

The Love Is What Is Real And The Joy Is Who You Are!

"We call on the human family to address the root causes of violence and build a culture of peace and hope.
We know that another world is possible, a world of justice and peace.  Together we can make it a reality."
                                                                         --Nobel Peace Laureates Centennial Appeal

The Peace Garden Project is looking for Inspiring Individuals, Locations and Luminaries to interview and to Webcast...

If you know of amazing people, places or projects (whether they are in a garden setting or not!) that you think deserve to be featured and acknowledged, please let us know!
